Sebastian Carrasquillo, MD, FACC

Dr. Sebastian Carrasquillo is an interventional cardiologist who specializes in the treatment of heart conditions such as coronary artery disease, vascular disease and structural heart disease using catheter-based procedures. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
After medical school at Universidad Central del Caribe in Puerto Rico, Dr. Carrasquillo completed his residency in internal medicine at the VA Caribbean Healthcare System. He went on to complete a cardiology fellowship at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Jacksonville, followed by a fellowship in interventional cardiology at the same institution.
Dr. Carrasquillo is experienced in a wide range of procedures to treat cardiovascular disease, including:
- Radial and femoral cardiac catheterization
- Coronary stenting
- Intravascular imaging
- Peripheral vascular stenting
- Limb salvage
- Atherectomy
- Thrombectomy
- Pericardiocentesis
- TEE and cardioversion
His areas of clinical interest include acute coronary syndrome, coronary artery disease, chest pain, peripheral vascular disease, claudication (poor leg circulation), acute/chronic/critical limb ischemia, heart failure, nuclear cardiovascular imaging and preventive cardiovascular medicine. Dr. Carrasquillo is bilingual in both Spanish and English.
